"After
graduating with my Bachelors degree in International Marketing from
UMASS Lowell, I began my business career as a
Marketing Assistant for a
local company. I used databases at that job,
and also learned some desktop publishing on the Macintosh
computer. Since
many companies were starting to use Windows PCs, there was a lot
of need for
training at that time. I
began working as an independent contractor and taught computer
skills to various clients. Being
a private contractor allowed me the time to attain my MBA
at night at Bentley College.
I currently contract
to different companies in Boston and the suburbs, teaching
different computer programs.
In addition to Office, I teach Microsoft Access, Project, and I
know a little about FrontPage.
I came to New Beginnings in October of 2004 and have
really enjoyed helping people who really want to learn, and with
a staff who prides themselves in giving them the tools to do so.
Computer
training has been a very nice occupation for a mom. With a husband
and two children, I’ve been able to learn new programs at home, teach
a couple days per week, and still be involved in volunteer work
with my children. Last
year I led two Girl Scout troops and taught 2 religious
classes per week. I also volunteer at my daughters’ school.
My
main goal is to get back to “what I wanted to be when I grew
up”. I’ve always wanted to write, and I have submitted some
pieces to my favorite magazine. My goal is to submit more."
